This morning is my first day back from Christmas Vacation, and celebrations for the new year. I worked my butt off to complete as many projects prior to the Christmas holiday so that many clients could open up their DVDs for Christmas.
Last year was challenging in many ways, and rewarding in more. Just over 6 years ago, mine and my wife's lives were changed forever when we adopted our first child, only to then adopt his twin Brothers months later. Within a few months of buying the new home, we had already outgrown it. It didn't take long before working 100+ hours a week between my two restaurants was too much to handle, while also raising 3 children under a year old.
I took a leap of faith, and started a new chapter, which leads me to where I am today. Today I am working on a project for Victoria and Blake, from their wedding late last year. I am reminded of how much I truly love what I do. As I watch footage from their wedding, exchanging vows, and the things that were said about them, I am truly blessed to work with some of the most amazing people in the world.
When I shot their wedding last year, I was so moved by what they said to each other, and what others had to say about them, I couldn't wait to get right to work on their video. Due to some challenges with editing software, many projects were delayed, including theirs. But now as I sit and craft their story into a cinematic piece of art, I am remembering how much I really love doing what I do.
I'm back, refreshed, and the glitches are fixed! It's time to get working. Stay tuned for Victoria and Blake's wedding video!
