50th Wedding Anniversary Speech - After 50 Years Together

Article Body:
Giving a speech after 50 years of marriage would seem to be really easy, but expressing your emotions after 50 years doesnít always get easier, sometimes it gets more difficult because the emotion becomes stronger, deeper, and more complicated. Whether you are the husband or wife or a dear friend that would like to make a speech, it can be difficult to find the right words to say that encapsulate a love that has been able to withstand 50 years of marriage.

If You Are One of the Couple

If you are either the husband or the wife, you should thank all of the guests for coming to celebrate 50 years of marriage with you. You should then express your gratitude to your spouse for hanging in there with you for all of these years. Share a story or some feelings with your spouse and your friends and family about a particularly inspiring time, loving time, difficult time, or a moment of levity in the 50 years of marriage that you think is appropriate. You can present your spouse with a gift during your speech as well, which is a great way to end your golden anniversary speech!

Where to Start

Starting a speech can be very difficult, so the best way to start off is with a brief introduction of yourself if you are not the husband or the wife. For instance, you donít need to give your entire background you can simply say, ìHi, Iím Jane. I am a long time friend of Bill and Nancy and am so glad to be here today.î This will give the other guests that are at the party some idea of who you are and why you would want to give a speech at all!

What to Say

50 years of marriage, what do you say? If you are married, thank the couple for being an inspiration to you and your spouse. Thank them for sticking together and being two people that everyone could count on. You can tell the couple that you hope that your marriage can be as strong after 50 years as you know that theirs is now. If you have one, share a cute story that you think demonstrates the strength and beauty of the coupleís love. You can also present the couple with a gift, a framed picture, or a framed piece of scripture or a poem during your speech. The point of the speech is just to convey how happy you are for the couple for sticking together for 50 years, as well as to express what an inspiration they are to married people everywhere.

How to Close

Closing the speech can be the most difficult part after starting! The best thing you can do is say congratulations and that you hope to celebrate many more anniversaries, and thank them for sharing their day with you. The closing neednít be anything extravagant, and there will likely be someone that will follow you in their congratulating the married couple for their 50th wedding anniversary.

Cheap Wedding Dresses Do Not Necessarily Mean Poor Quality

Your wedding day is undoubtedly one of the most important days of your life, but it can also be one of the most expensive. For the bride perhaps the most important item on the shopping list will be her wedding dress and with an increasing number of high quality but relatively cheap wedding dresses on the market today it is possible to have the dress of your dreams without breaking the bank.

For many people a wedding dress should be a traditional full length white gown, symbolizing the bride's pure heart and innocence, complete with veil and train first popularized by Queen Victoria when she broke with the royal custom of marrying in silver and chose a white gown for her marriage to Prince Albert. This started a craze which continues today with many brides choosing white or a variation of white such as cream, eggshell or ivory.

Today however we see two major shifts taking place when it comes to weddings.

The first is a return to pre-Victorian days when brides married in simpler dresses of just about any color that took their fancy, except for black which was associated with mourning and red which was worn only by "ladies of the night". This also means often dispensing with the veil, which is said to symbolize virginity, and the train which is very much a trapping of royal weddings and emulates the peacock, which was formerly seen an a royal bird.

The second is a move away from the church wedding towards weddings held in a wide variety of venues, including the increasingly popular beach wedding.

As a result not only do brides now have a much wider choice of color for their wedding dress but, more importantly, dispensing with the veil and train and the need for a full length dress now means that brides can choose from a range of far more simple wedding dresses. For the cost conscious this is great as informal wedding dresses are also considerably cheaper than the full traditional white wedding outfit.

One other important point here is that the move away from the full white wedding gown also means that it is no longer necessary to purchase your dress from a specialist bridal outfitter who, not surprisingly, will charge a premium simply for the service that is provided or for the name or brand that you are buying. It's a bit like a pair of running shoes ñ you can buy two virtually identical pairs of shoes and pay ten times more for one pair than for the other simply because it carries a brand name.

There has never been a better time to shop for your wedding dress and the choice available to you today in terms of color, style and supplier is vast. It's no longer that difficult to find reasonably cheap wedding dresses and still end up looking like a million dollars in the dress of your dreams.

There is one thing that everyone craves for, and that is called style. So many make claims of possessing style, but truly speaking few understand its essence. Style is not bought and sold in the market, and spending huge amounts of money does not always translate into fine taste. Style is something more complicated than that.

Talking of weddings and the flowers that must grace the wedding, style and money may not follow the same tune. But there is good news. Nowadays arranging of flowers is bending more towards minimalism. So itís a lot less difficult to come up with an eye-catching interior design on reasonable finances. So what is the way of reducing the cost of flowers without compromising with style? Let me present you with some terrific ideas, like designing a motif of flowers for the wedding that at once easy on the pockets and speaks of style too.

Have an Intimate Bridal Party

If the list of invitees is kept to minimum, then the florist will have to design just that many boutonnieres and bouquets. This would result in quick savings that will not contradict your floral aspirations. And if there are too many close pals then think of giving them alternative important posts ñ like a ceremony reader.

Shrink the Guest List

You will have to adorn fewer isles at the ceremony if there are fewer seats to begin with. And lesser tables at the reception party of the wedding ceremony would indicate lesser floral decoration pieces to keep on them. The concept is this ñ that you will have fabulous arrangements ñ just not too many of them.

Go With the Season

Get a list of the flowers for that season in which your wedding is taking place. The flowers that bloom during the season are easier to get hold of and are seldom very expensive.

Keep It Simple Sista!

Irrespective of the season, there are a few kinds of flowers that would surely be costly to purchase. You can have a session with your florist to know your options. You can in fact make less costly flowers look as stunning as the expensive ones - pack together the same kind of flowers. If you have ever seen a bunch of daisies packed together, you will know what I am saying.

Consider Alternative Arrangements

You can also go in for the latest hot trend of the season ñ beautiful decorations with vegetables, fruits, or grasses. Go green, in other words. Another favorite idea is to scatter flower petals around votive candles. This would create a romantic effect without crippling you financially.

Choose a Naturally Beautiful Location

Call on Mother Nature for help, and who would ask for expensive designs for the wedding? If you plan to have your wedding during the beautiful season of spring in a garden, then no flower arrangement would be necessary at all. Similarly a beautiful church can do the dÈcor trick for you because it would be splendid to look at by its own merit. Then again, during holidays many facilities are decorated anyways. Hence a December wedding might just give you breathtaking garlands and poinsettias without spending a single penny.

10 Must Have Gift Ideas For The Wedding Party

It is traditional for the bride to give the groom a gift on the wedding day.  Although the wedding rings that the couple exchanges can be considered gifts, many brides choose to honor their groom with an additional gift that suits his personality.

The gift of the bride and groom exchanging gifts is beginning to fade as many couples who spend a great deal of money on their wedding or honeymoon may decide that there is no need to exchange gifts in addition to the wedding and honeymoon.  If you do decide to honor your groom with a gift on your wedding day, it is more important to choose an item that he is sure to enjoy than it is to spend a great deal of money on the gift.

A photo album complete with a picture of you and the bridesmaid or the entire wedding party can be another unique gift idea for the bridesmaids.  You could purchase photo albums with the date of your wedding engraved on the front cover and start the photo album with a picture of you and the bridesmaid.  This is a wonderful gift idea because the bridesmaid can place her photos from the wedding day in the album and will always have a precious souvenir from your wedding day.

Gift certificates to a spa or a salon also make unique gift ideas for your bridesmaids.  Your bridesmaids most likely spent a great deal of time and energy in helping you to plan your wedding.  The week prior to your wedding was also probably especially hectic with a great deal of last minute details to attend to and errands to run.  While you will have your honeymoon to relax and renew your energy your bridesmaids do not have this luxury so by honoring them by presenting them with a gift certificate to a spa or salon you are giving them the gift or being pampered and the gift of relaxation.

A few more unique gift ideas for your bridesmaidsí gifts include handcrafted or homemade gifts.  For example you could put together a CD of some of your bridesmaidsí favorite songs.  You could make the CDs different for each bridesmaid and include a photo of the two of you on the cover and include a heartfelt poem on the inside of the CD cover.  You could also create a scrapbook for each of your bridesmaids.  You could either make the scrapbook a memory of your entire friendship together and include photos and other items from your various adventures throughout the years or if you plan ahead and take many photos documenting your wedding preparations, you could create scrapbooks as a remembrance of the wedding planning that you shared.

Any item that relates to a specific hobby that the groom enjoys is a great idea for a wedding gift for the bride to give to the groom.  This is a popular choice because giving a gift that relates to one of his hobbies demonstrates that you understand his likes and that you want him to continue to engage in activities that he enjoys.

Another unique gift idea for a bride to give to her bridesmaids is a gift certificate to a local restaurant.  Assisting in your wedding preparations was probably extremely stressful and time consuming for the bridesmaids and they certainly deserve a night on the town and the opportunity to not have to cook for a night.  This simple gift lets your bridesmaids know that you appreciate their efforts and that you want to thank them for all that they have done to support you.

Unique gift ideas for the bridesmaids can also stem from the wedding theme.  For example if you are having a beach themed wedding you might want to give your bridesmaids a gift of a tote bag, a beach towel and a novel to enjoy on the beach.  This unique gift idea ensures that your bridesmaids will remember your wedding fondly the next time they are at the beach.

Although the tradition of the bride and groom exchanging gifts on their wedding day is beginning to fade, many couples still wish to honor this tradition.  Many couples spend so much money on their wedding and reception that they feel as though they cannot afford the additional expense of buying gifts for each other.  While it may be true that the couple cannot afford one more extravagant gift it is also true that a truly thoughtful gift for the groom does not have to be overly expensive.  If the couple is partaking in this tradition it is advisable that they exchange gifts that truly reflect the personality of their spouse.

9 Ways To Cope With Wedding Speech Nerves

If youíre not used to public speaking, then making a wedding speech can be very daunting. With this in mind, I have prepared a few important tips to help you overcome your nerves and deliver a great wedding speech.

1. Remember these people are on your side. They arenít secretly hoping youíll mess things up. The reason youíre there giving a speech is because you are connected with the people there, and so are the audience. Bearing this in mind, you can rest assured that anything you say in your wedding speech will be listened to and respected fully.

Also, people listening to speeches at weddings are wanting to laugh as this breaks the tension. So any vague attempt of a joke will get you a response.

2. Practice your wedding speech thoroughly. The more your practice, the less nervous youíll feel on the actual day. Remember to practice the intonation of your voice and the pauses. By showing youíve put effort into your preparation, any mistakes you may make on the day will be easily forgiven.

3. Learn your speech by heart. Whenever you have some spare time, in the car on the way to work, in the shower or whereverÖpractice your speech. Repeat it over and over again as many times as you can before the big day. You will feel much calmer on the big day as youíll know the whole speech inside out.

4. Remember to breathe. As simple as this sounds, it is often overlooked. Practice where youíll take a breath in the speech, and learn to breathe correctly. Diaphragmatic breathing, as used by singers and public speakers, will help you here. If youíre unfamiliar with this, a quick search on Google will show you.

5. Think of a funny story before you stand up. Nothing so funny that you loose you focus, but something mildly titillating that will bring a smile to your face. This will loosen you up, and give a nice energy to your wedding speech that will improve the delivery immensely.

6. Have a banana 20 minutes before you make your speech. This tip is often used by professional public speakers, and helps the nerves of many people. It also gives a nice energy boost which helps reduce your nerves.

7. Speak slowly and clearly. If you are nervous, you will feel the urge to speed up and your speech will become unclear. So try to consciously slow yourself down and speak clear so people can hear what you say.

8. Make eye contact with people in the audience so it feels like your just chatting with everyone who is there.

9. Lastly, remember to simply enjoy yourself! Your life isnít going to end if you make a few mistakesÖand it will be over in just a few minutes. Have fun!

3 Reasons To Hire a Videographer For Your Wedding Day

Reasons to get a Videographer

It’s the most wonderful day of your life, the day when you start anew with the person you are going to spend the rest of your life with: your wedding day. However, even with the average engagement lasting around 14 months, all the planning leading up to the big day can be a bit stressful, so you might be tempted to skip a step or two. Before you cut out wedding videography, though, be sure to consider three reasons you might regret it.

A Beautiful Keepsake

Very few things from your wedding day will last but your memories. A wedding DVD will help you remember as much as possible, including the sounds associated with your events. Your festivities will probably include some beautiful words and speeches, so how wonderful will it be to be able to replay them years later? Having a video of all your events will make it easier to remember the best man’s touching speech or words of wisdom from your grandparents.

Extra Pairs of Eyes

Your wedding day will no doubt be filled with special moments. Unfortunately, you can’t be everywhere at the same time. A good high def wedding video, however, allows you to catch everything you missed when your back was turned so you could throw the bouquet.

Share Your Day with More People

Come the day of your wedding, occasionally someone important just couldn’t make it. When you have a loved one far away or indisposed, the ability to see footage of your big day can help them feel included so that they can share in your joy.

Get More with Wedding Videos

Why not do all you can to remember your special day? Good videographers with high quality products can make a huge difference in how you remember your wedding day, help you take part in every moment, and allow you to celebrate the occasion over and over again. Invest in high definition work today—you won’t regret it.

When we think of destination weddings we may think of white sandy beaches, but you may choose to have your wedding at a national park, the mountains, or a historical site. You may decide to get married in the birthplace of your ancestors. Such a wedding could give you and your guests an opportunity to visit another country or another continent.

Destination weddings are a lot of fun, but there is some work involved and you need to plan in advance.

If you are getting married in the U.S., be sure to contact the marriage license department of the destination county. It would be smart to call a local wedding planner for a consultation. The help of a wedding planner at your destination could save you a lot of headaches. You have to make sure that you understand the legal documents and requirements to get married in your destination county.

If you are marrying outside of the U.S., be sure to contact the countryís embassy for legal requirements. If you are not comfortable dealing with embassies, contact local hotels for information. Wedding professionals at your destination hotel should be able to provide you with valuable information. Many popular destination wedding locations offer on site wedding coordinators armed with a lot of great information.

Keep in mind that in very remote areas, you might not be able to find anyone to provide the wedding services you desire. If you're planning to invite guests, keep their needs and interests in mind, too.
A destination wedding could mean savings since your wedding ceremony and your honeymoon can be at the same destination.

Choosing The Perfect Wedding Caterer

Catering is an important part in any wedding planning. Hence a good caterer is needed to keep the wedding ceremony go on in good spirits. A person who has a good meal would be in good spirits than the person who is not enjoying his meal.

Choosing a perfect wedding location is important for the caterer. Most of the venues for wedding offer catering also themselves. They do not allow catering from outsider since they have a team with them always. Hence it is better to enquire about the catering service offered at a wedding venue before you even fix up the venue for the wedding. Hence planning a catering service provider is also done when you fix up the venue for the wedding. Most of the wedding venues have their own caterer or they recommend someone for their place.

Considering the quality of the food served by a caterer is important than the looks of the ballrooms that are available in the wedding venue. If caterer for a particular venue is not up to the standard you are looking for then it is better to change the venue if needed. If the wedding venue allows outside catering you can choose an outside caterer who is good in catering. Most of the best recommendations come from you friends and relative who had experience with a particular caterer. If you had a attended a wedding that served you good food then you might enquire the caterer who served that wedding and fix a contract with him for you wedding.

Checking out the price range for the menus they have for the wedding is also important. Some of the caterers may have a menu for themselves and they prepare food items only from that menu. If you have a special item that you want to include in your wedding party it is better to check with the caterer whether they would prepare that food item for you. Most of the caterers would prepare a food item that is not in their menu also. Most of them are skilled enough to prepare anything you ask for. When adding food items to your wedding menu make sure that everything is within your budget. Ask the caterer if they provide any tasting sessions. Choose one who has a tasting session. If you have not tasted the food prepared by the caterer there is no guarantee that you will be getting the required taste in the food prepared. Most of the caterers provide a tasting session so that you can identity, which items to choose from. Give a rating to the foods that

All About Wedding Event Planning

All About Wedding Event Planning

If you are in charge of being the event planning specialist for a wedding reception, wedding rehearsal, or something else that goes along with being involved with the wedding then chances are that you know it is a huge responsibility. Not only are the bride and the groom counting on you to make sure that every aspect of their wedding reception goes smoothly, but all of your event planning skills are being relied upon for the success of the whole event! Even though not many people will realize if a specific faux pax is made on your part throughout the reception or wedding event because it may be so small in nature, chances are that you realized that you have messed up. Here are some things about wedding event planning that you should know about in order to create the perfect wedding reception, rehearsal dinner, and coordinating the cleanup efforts afterwards as well!

The Bride and the Groom

Even though the person chargeed with event planning for the wedding reception or the rehearsal dinner may feel overwhelmed at the great responsibility that he or she has, an important thing for the event planner to realize is that the wedding and everything pertaining to the wedding is all about the bride and the groom. Even though a lot of what's going on will feel like it has to do with the event planner him or her self, chances are that it will only feel that way because there is added pressure on the individual to make sure that things go off without a hitch!

Coordinating the Rehearsal Dinner

The rehearsal is just one aspect about wedding event planning that definitely should not be taken lightly! Even though all of the wedding attendants are not required to go to the rehearsal dinner for the bride and the groom, it would be a good idea if the wedding event planner were to convince everyone to attend! In addition, another very important thing that must be thought about when it comes to the wedding rehearsal dinner is where it will be held, what food will be eaten, and how long it should last. Of course, a lot of these things will be chosen by the bride and the groom itself, but the wedding event planner will obviously have to help them make some of the more important decisions, such as where it will be held and also to make sure the reservations are in place!

A Successful Wedding Reception

Perhaps the best thing about event planning for a wedding is witnessing the marriage ceremony and wedding reception to make sure that it all happens succesfully with no real downfalls! The wedding reception is an important part of this; making sure that the bride and the groom have agreed upon the food that will be there, what type of cake they'll have, and where it will be held are very crucial issues to making sure everyone is satisfied! In the end, however, it all comes back to realizing that the whole wedding event is about the bride and the groom, and that is the secret to making sure that your wedding event planning efforts don't go to waste!

8 Tips For Picking The Perfect Wedding Dress

When little girls spend their math classes daydreaming of weddings (instead of winning the World Series -- not to say you can't do both), what do they dream of first? The perfect wedding dress, of course: a gown in white satin with a bustle and sweeping train, the perfect embellishments, and the perfect shoes.

There are few occasions in our modern world where a woman finds herself in a position to wear a no-holds-barred ball gown, much less a crystal tiara, and all too many where she's called on to wear to a neutral suit or uninspiring "biz-caz" combo. No wonder that with so many brides, their wedding plans start with the dress.

Many of these brides are lucky. They may search high and low, braving chilly department stores and pushy bridal shops, but eventually they come face-to-face with The One. They know this is The One because they start crying, or their mother or friends all start crying at once. Suddenly the rest of the planning ... the theme, the tone, the right kind of venues ... it all springs to life.

Other brides aren't as fortunate. They've searched just as hard, working their way through shops across three or four states, but they haven't found The One. Instead, they've found three or four Contenders, all of which are serviceable and nice, but not earth-shattering enough to tell them that now is definitely time to stop the searching and get on with the planning. These brides have it harder.

Even if you're the first kind of bride, buying the dress is such a momentous decision that you run a risk of falling into that wallet-skinning category known as the Two-Dress Bride. Here are some tips for picking the perfect dress and avoiding that awful fate.

1. Bring the entourage, but don't buy. It's fun and useful to bring your mother, friends or sisters on the dress-shopping expedition. It gives you a buffer against an overbearing sales staff, and it's fun to see if your impressions of perfection are shared by your loved ones, not to mention how they'll love being part of such an important decision. But no matter how enthusiastic everyone gets over a certain dress, don't buy in the heat of the moment. Give yourself time to reconsider and buy with a cool head later, alone. The vast majority of dresses are non-returnable, so when you've bought it, you've bought it.

2. Don't buy too early unless you must. Bridal gowns can take four to ten months to come from the manufacturer, but there's no reason to buy over a year ahead of time, unless your chosen style is going to be discontinued. Give yourself some time to sit on your decision. Once you pick a gown, you'll see a hundred others nearly like it. You'll become a walking encyclopedia on that style of gown. All the better if you still have room to choose.

3. If you've bought "The One," stop shopping. Any more window-shopping at this point will only lead you down the road toward the dreary land of Two-Dress Brides. What you need to do instead is remember that blissful feeling of having tried on The One. Go get The One out of the closet, put it on and stand in front of the mirror. You'll remember exactly why it's The One.

4. If you've bought "The One" and can't stop shopping, get a second opinion. Show your first and second choices to other brides. Be honest -- tell them you've already remortgaged your condo for the first dress, but you think this second dress might be It. They'll be truthful, too -- the first one was better. You'll feel reassured.

5. Don't tell yourself "I'll sell the old dress and choose a new one." This old saw of the Two-Dress Bride just won't work. You'll never get more than a fraction of what you paid for your first dress if you bought it new.

6. Don't be afraid to aim high -- no matter what your budget. Some brides knew from the start they wanted a designer label, but life just didn't cooperate by making them heiresses. Yet all is not lost if you're willing to shop courageously. At any given moment, a better-heeled bride is selling her once-used St. Pucchi or Ulla-Maija on eBay. She paid thousands upon thousands, but you, smart shopper, will pay half that or less. To take this road, you must shop earlier than other brides so you'll have a choice of gowns. Always pay with a credit card so you'll have recourse if the dress doesn't arrive in acceptable condition, and again, shop early so you can buy another if necessary. Shop courageously, but not recklessly.

7. Shop online, but never send a check. Bridal gown businesses sometimes have a way of disappearing overnight. No matter what the proprietor tells you, never make a purchase as large as a wedding gown without the chargeback protection of a credit card. If they say they can't take plastic, move on.

8. Don't hold out forever for The One. Some brides never find The One. What they do find is a few dresses they look beautiful in. If you're this bride, try starting your planning from the theme instead of the dress. You'll probably eventually get sick to death of dress shopping. When that happens, "good enough" really will be good enough. Concentrate on other aspects of the wedding that mean a lot to you, like the venue, the food, or the inevitable adoration of your soon-to-be husband.

Beautiful Wedding on a Budget

Few people realize that having a beautiful wedding does not require spending their entire savings.

If you're planning a wedding, learning where to cut costs and how to budget will leave you with money to spare.

"There are many ways to have the wedding of your dreams without the nightmare of huge bills," said Anna Griffin, wedding industry expert and designer of the Wedding Studio line of wedding products. "You just have to be resourceful."

Here are some tips from Griffin on how to create a designer wedding on a budget.

* For something old, wear a vintage wedding dress. You can save hundreds on a wedding gown by shopping in consignment or vintage shops, in newspaper classifieds and on the Internet. You also can update your mother's, grandmother's or aunt's wedding dress with a new neckline or hemline, beading or lace.

* Print your own invitations. There are many wedding accessories that can be made instead of bought - the veil, the centerpieces and even the invitations. Do-it-yourself kits are available to help you create designer looks without the designer price tags.

The Wedding Studio, for example, is an entire line of paper-related wedding accessories - from invitations to menu cards to guest books and photo albums - designed for brides who want original and elegant paper goods. The invitation kit comes in four styles in three color options and includes envelopes, reply cards and printing instructions.

* Use an antique or classic car instead of a limousine. Contact a local antique or classic car club to rent a luxury vehicle, such as a 1939 Rolls-Royce or a 1952 Cadillac DeVille. Most of the owners will be thrilled to loan out their cars and you'll have more than enough room for the married couple at a much lower price. And, whereas a limousine is rented for a couple of hours, you have the benefit of keeping the antique vehicle for 24 hours or longer.

* Keep the flowers simple. Instead of hiring a florist, contact a floral-design school and hire students to provide you with flower arrangements. You also can create your own flower arrangements. Buy one color of flower in bulk. It creates a visual impact while saving money. Contact a wholesale florist; many will sell flowers directly to the consumer.

All About Wedding Shoes

I suppose that you have found the perfect bridal dress to wear on the big day but what about your bridal shoes? If you haven't really given them some serious thought, it's time to think again. Your shoes not only need to complement your dress, it should also be a nice fit. Unlike buying other shoes, buying wedding shoes does involve some further attention.

Many people overlook the importance on how the dress matches with the wedding shoes because they both play a critical role for each other. First and foremost, you should try on your wedding shoes together with your wedding gown. Many dresses have a long train and can be a little hard to walk in. You wonít want to trip during the wedding so you should have a good amount of control in the shoes that you choose. Give yourself a basic set of routine to try the shoes with ñ you should have no difficulty walking, climbing stairs and even dancing in your wedding shoes.

When it comes to heels, it's true that high heels certainly have a particular sense of elegance and style but there are numerous fashionable flat-heeled shoes that you can choose as well. If you are not used to wearing heels but you want to wear them on the big day, make sure that you practice first by walking in them. Ultimately, make sure that you get yourself a pair of comfortable wedding shoes. A tiny shoe bite can turn into a big pain almost instantly during a wedding. In fact, wedding shoes that you can hardly fit in can result in a few broken ankles. This is an awful sight you wonít want to see on your wedding day. Hence, if your choice of shoes in due course comes down to style versus comfort, go for comfort.

If your gown is going to cover your feet and you're absolutely sure that they won't be seen, you can choose something that is simple yet comfortable. Some smart women have put up something as simple as a pair of white tennis shoes as their wedding shoes. If your wedding budget allows, you can also look into designer wedding shoes. There are several high-end designers that are specialized in designing wedding shoes.

However, to find your perfect wedding shoes, you should consider a wedding shoe specialist. They can be quite pricey but you can be sure that you'll have the best wedding shoes possible for your wedding. These specialists will match your shoes with the fabric and the shade of your wedding gown. Your shoe will also be custom-made to fit your feet size. You can even request for some small accessories to be added to make your wedding shoes to be even more special and unique.

You should make every aspect of your big day as perfect as possible so it will leave good and wonderful memories to you and your family members.

7 Key Skills to Becoming a Successful Wedding Planner

Becoming a wedding planner involves more than just planning a wedding. You must understand the business aspect of your service and learn to manage your time to earn the most profits. You will be the face of your business and your own public relations representative. Every day you will have the opportunity to build -- or damage -- your reputation as a businessperson.

Article Body:
Becoming a Utah wedding planner involves more than just planning a wedding. You must understand the business aspect of your service and learn to manage your time to earn the most profits. You will be the face of your business and your own public relations representative. Every day you will have the opportunity to build -- or damage -- your reputation as a businessperson.

As your business and your expertise grow, you will probably begin planning multiple weddings at once. It is essential that you strive to provide the best, personalized attention to each couple when planning their big day, without losing your sanity.

The 7 Key Skills

No one said that becoming a wedding planner was a job for the faint of heart. Not everyone can succeed as a wedding consultant. A good wedding planner is:

- Calm. You will be the brideís (and the groomís!) rock. From miscommunications with vendors to major meltdowns at the ceremony, you must be able to keep your cool in the wake of a calamity. A wedding planner should always have a Plan B ready for action in case of an emergency.

- Charming. You are the face of your business and your clientsí representative. Impeccable communication and social skills are imperative. Your reputation as a wedding consultant depends on your ability to network and maintain great working relationships with vendors and venues. Wedding planners must know how to communicate and work with all personality types. Not everyone you encounter will be pleasant and easy to please. You must be able to defuse any situation to get the results your client desires.

-  A Great Negotiator. The bride and groom will be counting on you to order flowers, hire the band and photographer, recommend a caterer, and help find venues for the ceremony and reception. You must be able to find the best service for the lowest price. This becomes easier as you create a reputation for yourself and develop professional relationships with vendors and venues. Your connections will get you better deals, which you can pass on to your customers.

- Good with Money. Starting a wedding planner business requires that you be able to manage your own expenses and stick to a budget, as well as be responsible for someone elseís money and budget. Previous experience with money management is vital -- even if your only experience consists of controlling the household finances.

- Organized. A wedding consultant might be responsible for almost every aspect of the big day: the venues, theme, flowers, food, refreshments, attire, photography, honeymoon, and other details of the wedding. Keeping track of all the nuances, contract dates, and deadlines requires an enormous amount of organization and attention to detail. Your calendar will be your new best friend.

- A Plethora of Knowledge. A good wedding planner has fashion sense, good taste in music, and an eye for color, flowers, and themes. You must be able to keep up with the latest bridal trends and fads, hot honeymoon destinations, and of course, traditional wedding etiquette. Many wedding consultants also learn about different religious ceremonies and traditions so that they can accommodate couples of any faith.

- Able to Maintain a Sense of Humor: From indecisive or emotional brides to controlling parents and absentee vendors, your work is cut out for you. When you are dealing in dreams, the ability to keep things in perspective is essential.

Beginning your own wedding planning business will be a learning experience. No one knows everything from day one, and as the old saying goes, practice makes perfect.

5 Tips To Select The Best Wedding Reception Location

Being disc jockeys, we get the opportunity to evaluate many reception facilities while having little or no bias to "sell" one location over another. Here are 5 items that are commonly overlooked by Brides and Grooms when they select there recption hall.

Article Body:
Being disc jockeys, we get the opportunity to evaluate many reception facilities while having little or no bias to "sell" one location over another. Most Brides and Grooms know where they will be holding the ceremony before they decide where to have the reception, so we have compiled five observations that can help you when selecting your venue.

Distance - If people have to drive a long way to get from the ceremony to the reception, some will get distracted or decide to do something else. Try to keep the reception within a 15 to 30 minute drive of your ceremony. If it is not possible to get a reception hall close to your ceremony, make a caravan. Have the Bride and Groom lead the parade, and people will follow you to your reception.

Time - Time is just like the distance issue. If your reception is several hours after the ceremony, people will get busy doing other things and not show up for the reception. Try to start the reception within an hour or two of the ceremony. If you don't want to start your wedding dance at 4 o'clock in the afternoon, have a Meet and Greet mixer before your reception. Serve some punch and get people to mingle. This will be one of the few times that both families will be together. Encourage family members to share stories about your childhoods.

Size - People like their personal space, and they have most likely spent an hour packed into a church for your ceremony. If you let them spread out, they will enjoy themselves more. Make sure your reception hall has plenty of room for your guests. The people renting the location might tell you it holds 200 people, but that doesn't necessarily mean it will hold 200 people comfortably! Make sure to visit the venue before booking.

Climate Control - Having a summer wedding? Is your reception hall air conditioned? If people sweat while just sitting, they won't dance. On the flip side, if they are cold they won't dance either (who wants to dance in a parka?). Also make sure you know who has control of the thermostat so the temperature can be adjusted if needed. Chances are your reception will be warm and stuffy while all the guest are there, but as they trickle out during the night the room will begin to cool down.

Smoking - This is a hot button issue, but if your reception hall is non-smoking, you can fully expect smoker's to leave your reception for 15-30 minutes every hour. If enough of them leave the reception area, you may find a large percentage of your guest just hanging out in the smoking area. This can be a big problem if you have many smokers in your wedding party. You don't have to allow smoking, but it is something you should consider, especially if anyone has any health problems like asthma or allergies that could be triggered by smoke. If you decide not to allow smoking in the reception area, how close is the nearest place for a smoker to go? Is it close enough that you will be able to get needed wedding party members during events like the bouquet toss or garter auction?

Facility coordinators will no doubt bring up several other factors for you to consider when you interview them for your booking, but these are often missed items, especially if they don't favor the potential venue. If you keep the overall picture in mind and work with your wedding planner or event coordinator on the decorating ideas, you will no doubt have an enjoyable and memorable wedding reception.

5 Steps to Finding a Memorable Wedding Favor

Your wedding is not just a celebration of your love; it is also a way to thank the special people in your life.

Your wedding is not just a celebration of your love; it is also a way to thank the special people in your life. Wedding favors, in particular, are the expression of that gratitude. It says ìthank you for being thereîóand also, is a token of affection.

Thatís why couples should give as much thought to their wedding favors as they do to any other detail in the wedding. Why give something boring and generic, which will only end up gathering dust in the corner of a closet? Make it special, make it beautiful, and make it uniqueósomething that, when seen, will make them remember you and your wedding.

Youíll find many unique ideas for wedding favors. Here are just things to consider as you choose from the selection:

* Follow your wedding theme. Did you have a beach wedding? A little glass jar with sand and shells can be used as a paperweight. Add a romantic quote or a verse from a poem with a sea theme, and you have something appropriate and practical. Dried flowers pinned against a refrigerator magnet make a lovely garden wedding favor, while a Medieval themed wedding can have chocolate coins in a velvet pouch.

* Be nostalgic. Dress up a photo frame with a couple portrait, or a CD with your favorite music. Even an ordinary box, useful for odds and ends like paperclips or jewellery, becomes a touching wedding favor if itís filled with potpourri and a personal note from the couple thanking the guest for ìsweet memoriesî.

* Give something useful, but dainty. What about a champagne charm with a heart (to ìtoastî your new life), with a note that says that you hope that your guest will have many days as happy as this wedding is for you? A sachet with potpourri, to put into the closet, can also carry the scent of the flowers in your bouquet. These are things that they wonít buy for themselves, but will definitely appreciateówhile carrying the theme of your wedding.

* Think ìsweetsî. Chocolates and candies are always a welcome souvenir, and can be wrapped to reflect the theme of your wedding. If you have a very elegant evening wedding, try rum balls in a small gold box; or if you have a seaside wedding, give chocolates shaped like sea shells. You can even ask some suppliers to form your monogram into a chocolate, or have chocolate handpainted to look like little bouquets of flowers.

* Even ìordinaryî wedding favors become extra special if theyíre presented properly. Try grouping your wedding favors to become part of the table centerpiece. For example, little boxes of chocolate, arranged in a tier, can add to the beauty of the reception area. Or, you can have chocolate rosebuds inserted into your regular floral centerpieceónow thatís a ìsweetî discovery!

There are so many unique wedding favors that the problem isnít what to give, but which one to give. And with the large variety, thereís bound to be one that fits into your budget and theme.

4 Tips to Help Write Personal Wedding Vows

A person's wedding is one of the most memorable, important, and high points in an individualís life.

A personís wedding is one of the most memorable, important, and high points in an individualís life.  At a time when a man and a woman want to make the ultimate commitment to spend the rest of their lives together, the desire to have personalized vows is certainly understandable.  This is one of the most unique and special days in a personís life, so if you want to speak your own personal wedding vows, than by all means, you should go for it!

Writing your own vows can be intimidating.  Wedding days always add pressure to even the most mundane of tasks, and certainly writing the vows you want to say to your significant other in front of all your friends and family is no small matter!  Still, donít let fear cause you to go along with some basic commonly used wedding vows if you really want that personalized touch.  Just follow a few basic tips, and this will help you be on your way to writing the tips your future spouse deserves!

1. Write from the heart.  Your wedding day represents the epitome of love between you and your future spouse.  The two of you are together for a reason.  Anything you write should be honest and from your heart, because that is what will really make your words special.
2. You donít have to be Robert Frost or Emily Dickinson.  If you are a poet, great.  Keep in mind, though, that in the end words are just words.  Your wedding vows do not have to be an amazing classic piece of literatureóthey need to be an honest display of your feelings for the other person.  Donít use long poetical words if all it does is put distance between your words and your feelings.
3. Itís okay to brainstorm.  Before you set down to write everything, make a list of the things about your spouse that you absolutely love about your spouse, then make a list of the commitments you want to make.  Figure out what parts of those lists you really want to include (keep in mind the vows are read in front of families and friends) and keep those.
4. Short and Sweet.  It doesnít take many words or a lot of time to make your heart known to everyone present.  A lot can be said in a really short time, so donít feel like you have to make the vows any longer than they naturally come out.

Follow these four tips, and youíll find yourself getting over your worries to write some great wedding vows that your spouse will love!

50th Wedding anniversary

Jean looked through the window at  the birds flying calmly in the sky and  some dogs running on the beach. It was  a nice day and she  felt calm and content to be there,  memories came back from  her younger days: when she  knew she loved John, the  the weather conditions had been  equal and she, as a  modest girl with  attractive face and  long and bright hair, had been  happy to  pulled towards her, a young  bank manager. Her  skin like silk had attracted as he  saw her on the beach, and  regardless of timidity his he had bought a box of chocolates – he said they were  soft to the touch as she seemed to be.
Their  ardent  fate  flourished and Jean murmured as she  bore in mind  vacations and picnics,  swimming in the same sea she was looking at now and  canoodling in the back row of the cinema. John never forgot  wedding anniversary and was  always  purchasing her  nice flowers and chocolates and leaving  some flowers on the bed – even after 50 years of  being together.
Her cheeks reddened as she remembered  some ardent moments –  caressing each other during an Opera performance;  fantastic dinners in Turkey and  comfortable days in hotel bedrooms when on holiday, scarcely leaving their room, so crazy they were about their passion.
A hand gently  met her hand and she looked up: here he was, her John, now 72 but still with  a twinkle in his eye. He knew her so well that he  straight away  knew what she was thinking.
“I know fun wasn’t it, old lady? You are still  the love of my life!”
Ah a romantic thought now she  identified they were too old and John couldn’t coped with his impotence. Erectile dysfunction – what a medical condition  identify something so  unhappy.
On the other hand John  had a surprise; he had been  evoking too, and had  discovered a website for generic Viagra and generic cialis on the Internet. He had placed an order some generic Viagra tablets, which  claimed they would be able to help him to obtain his former sexual capability. Right now, he had a pack of generic Viagra in his pocket and a  plan in his mind. A romantic  walk near the sea,  delicious banquet a relaxing walk and then home... where he intended to  lie their passion again.

A Picture Perfect Wedding

Weddings are definitely one of the happiest moments in a personís life. But, this momentous occasion does not always come as blissful as the event itself. Days and even months before the big day, couples usually cram up with the littlest details.

The process of listing down and cutting down everything into specific detailsóthe wedding date, the venue, the reception, the caterer, the designer of the gown and suit, all the way down to the wedding coverageóare the areas where stress usually ushers in.

Due to hectic schedules, most couples usually do not pay much attention to one of the crucial things in any weddingóthe wedding coverage. Despite the overwhelming tension and excitement, couples do not have to be nonchalant when choosing their wedding photographers if they want their fun times and precious memories recorded very well.

To avoid making this slight neglect that usually leads disastrous results, couples have to decide first what kind of wedding photography they would want to have.

Most wedding photographers today categorize the types of wedding photography into two: the traditional or classic style and the wedding photojournalistic style.

The most common style used by wedding photographers today, the traditional or classic wedding photography is considered as a ìtimelessî and the ìsafestî style because you normally see in countless wedding albums. Characterized by classic poses of subjects aware of the camera, this style involves so much control from the photographer because he is in-charge in arranging individual and group shots before, during, and even after the wedding.

Having excellent portraiture skills, expect the photographer to focus more on the quality of the photograph by making the subject look great from the littlest details. Expect typical wedding photos like pre-ceremony pictures, formal shots of the bride and groom posing with brides maids and ushers, cake cutting, garter and bouquet toss, and the like when you choose a classic wedding photography. This style is ideal if the couple would want to keep portraits of family members for their wedding album.

If the couple is adventurous and unconventional, then you might want to consider the wedding photojournalistic style of photography on your big day. An increasingly popular style today, wedding photojournalism offers fresh and new style of taking photos in the occasion. Characterized by candid shots of the subjects unaware of the moving camera, the photojournalism style lets the attendees act freely to capture their pure and true emotion.

Sourcing style from his experience in journalism, the ìphotojournalistî pays more attention to minute details and candid shots rather than arranged ones. Heís more into eyeing interesting moments and capturing those in his lens to produce a narrative collection of images that tell a story.

Although some traditional poses will be present, expect photos that show actual emotions of the bride and groom and of other participants throughout the duration of the wedding when you choose the photojournalism style.

In order to avoid ruining the documentation of your wedding, here are some tips in making your wedding a picture perfect one:

1. Weddings are one of the most exciting chapters of oneís life. Make sure that you choose a wedding photographer that can meet all your standards. Meet with the photographer before hand the so you could discuss the details you want.

2. Inform the important participants about the schedule of photo sessions and make sure everyone attends the rehearsal to cut down the stress.

3. Have a reception area so guests can be informed about the itinerary. This will set the occasion in order.

A Wedding You Won't Forget!

Ah, the wedding. It is one of the most joyous, and torturous, events you will ever face. It absolutely amazes me what we humans put ourselves through just to create that perfect celebration of ìloveî. The planning of a typical wedding is very difficult. I should know because I am planning my own right now!

There is so much that needs to be done and there never seems to be enough time. I have talked with literally hundreds of people who have gone through the planning of a wedding and I have found that itís the little things that cause all the stress. Itís easy to plan for the obvious, but the minute details can drive you insane!

One of the most overlooked details of a wedding is what I think one of the most important details. It is making your wedding special for your guests. You see, itís easy to forget that the wedding is not just for you and your future spouse. Itís also for everyone who attends your wedding. Itís very important you donít forget about all the people who are special to you and who will be traveling from all over to be with you on your special day.

Picture thisÖ.the lights dim. A hush falls over the crowd. A slideshow video starts playing on the screen at the front of the room and it tells a story. What is this story, you ask? Itís a love story! It is the story of you. It is the story of your future partner. It is the story of both of you. It is pictures of you both from birth to present, arranged with text, your special music, and just about anything you want to use to entertain your guests. It will leave your guests with a smile on their faces and tears in their eyes!

Most engaged couples I have spoken with love the idea of having a slideshow video in their wedding. The problem is that they think itís either very difficult or incredibly expensive. Neither of those assumptions is correct. Itís actually very easy to have one made. As matter of fact there are several companies online that will make a video for you. Obviously Iím biased because I think our company is the best but I will give you some things to look for when shopping for a slideshow video production company.

Price. You have to be very careful here. Many companies advertise great prices, but they donít tell you about all the hidden costs. For example, Company X may say that they only charge $99.00 for a video. But if you read the fine print they charge an additional $2.00 per photo for scanning and another $1.00 for each picture enhancement. Once the video is complete, they will charge you another $50.00 just to preview it. So this $99.00 video just turned into a $500.00 video.

Previewing. Most places will not let you preview the video or, if they do allow it, they will charge extra to preview it. Itís absolutely critical that you preview any slideshow video before you buy it. Previewing the slideshow video allows you to make sure you like all the titling, screen transitions and photo arrangement. You want the video to be exactly the way you want it.

Montage. Montage videos are what I refer to as ìa tech heads video dream.î They involve constant panning back and forth and zooming in and out. They also feature fancy looking screen transitions where the pictures will do flips and spins and all sorts of other cool things. Now, these montages may look high tech but they are completely inappropriate for a wedding. A wedding slideshow video needs to be classy and tasteful. It doesnít need spins and twist, flips and twirls. It needs to have clean, smooth transitions. They need to flow from one picture to the next with elegance and grace.

Remember, you want your wedding to be special. You want your guests to remember your wedding with fondness. You want it to be an unforgettable experience. What better way than with a slideshow video that features your life up to that point! I hope your wedding is the best that has ever occurred. (Besides mine, that is!) I hope you decide to engage your guests by showing a beautiful, romantic slideshow video at the beginning of your ceremony. May you have the best of weddings and donít forget to have fun!

A Few Wedding Gift Ideas To Jog Your Mind

So you've got a wedding coming up...Well aside from picking up a something to wear, you will also be needing a gift. Fortunately, getting a wedding present can be a relatively easy and even fun experience.†

Here are a few wedding gift ideas to help jog your mind and memory.

The first option is to see if the couple has set up a 'wedding gift registry'.†These days, the registry may be online and many online retailers offer set up a gift registry for couples to increase transactions.  If there is a registry, you could simply pick a gift from here and buy that which is, of course, one of the easiest possible options.  This also has an additional advantage that you probably won't be getting them a gift that someone else has already gotten them, because once you pick a gift from the registry, it is marked off as bought, for the other guests to see.

Another option is cold hard cash. While this may not be the most deeply thoughtful gift, it is damn practical and new couples have to be practical. Keep in mind the newlyweds are probably trying to save up for a mortgage on a home, a car, furnishings, or even to pay off debts and student loans.  The bottom line is, cash is very helpful.

If you want to personalize a cash gift, be sure to put some thought into presenting the cash well. Maybe you could spend some time finding a hilarious gift card, with a nice picture and/or picture frame.  You could even make your own card with something about the couple if you are close to them.  There are many online services for making custom gift cards, and you can probably find funny or romantic quotes on the internet to use to personalize the card.

And lastly, there is the option of choosing your own unique gift. On our 100 gift ideas page you can  may find something, but here are a 5 wedding gift ideas that might help:

1. Charter the couple a private sailboat for a day
2. A weekend house rental
3. A membership to monthly or quarterly wine club
4. A hot air ballooning trip
5. Some fancy new computer or electronic equipment for their home.

Getting the couple a unique gift can have its rewards. It stands out in their mind and may help to cement a friendship.  Buying them a great experience like a romantic getaway house rental can be a great gift and very thoughtful and classy.  Depending on how much you plan to spend, you could even plan for a bottle of wine or champagne to be waiting for them when they arrive.

In my opinion, the only kind of gifts you probably want to avoid are plain old gifts like a cuisinart (unless it is specifically listed in their gift registry).†Gifts like a cuisinart are pretty unimaginative, bordering on flat out dull, and young couples will probably have an excess of semi-useless kitchen clutter after their wedding.†

If the couple is dear to you, don't contribute to the pile of semi-useful, not-very-thoughtful gifts that clutter their living area in the months after the wedding.†Take a few extra minutes and think up something cool.†Even if it isn't their favorite thing, they'll probably appreciate your effort at getting something unique.

"Note To Self" -- Creating A Wedding Time Capsule

One of the wedding trends that's really revving up brides today is the addition of a time capsule to the wedding prep proceedings. Yes, the wedding time capsule is a growing trend -- to the point where you can buy a pre-made kit from many web sites.

In kit form, your wedding time capsule takes the form of an attractive tin, in which you place various mementos -- photos, videos -- as well as predictions for the future; then, you seal it all up with some festive stickers, to help discourage premature peeking. You decide ahead of time how long you'll wait until you open it again -- your 10th anniversary? 25th anniversary? And then you write a stern directive to yourself on the tin to help you keep to the agreement.

Although most people equate "time capsule" with "something you bury in the ground," burying your wedding time capsule isn't a great idea. Not only does that subject the contents to extreme temperature variations, but with the US Census recently reporting that the average American moves every five years, chances of you leaving behind a buried capsule before the hoped-for anniversary rolls around are high indeed. Instead, keep yours out of the elements and somewhere relatively kind -- avoid damp attics, but a climate-controlled closet would be just perfect.

Some of us just like to do things our own way, and a wedding time capsule is no exception. Of course you can create your own! And a great way to do that is to get close friends and relatives in on the fun. Have them scribble up some predictions -- or perhaps marital advice. Take advantage of a pre-wedding party to snap photos of your intimates, and tuck the photos into the capsule. If you really want to motivate people to get involved, hold some kind of drawing for participants, such as a wedding raffle -- give away a box of fine cigars, a bottle of bubbly or even an afternoon at a spa.

While you're letting others in on the action, there are number of ways to go about it. One is to compose a list of predictions for everyone to guess at -- the whole experience is similar to filling out a junior high slam book, and just as fun. For example, ask participants to predict:

How many children you'll have,
what kind of household robots you'll have,
how many career changes you've gone through,
what major nation we're closest to, and which one we're mad at,
what animal is the trendiest pet,

... and so on.

Another is to ask your wedding party and close friends to compose short letters to you. Give them each envelopes, and instruct them to tell you on the outside when it's time to open the envelope. Some will simply say "fifth anniversary," "10th anniversary," or "when your first child is born." Others will get more creative -- and you'll probably find it's terrific fun to stretch out the time capsule concept in this inventive, unpredictable way.
